Twins Baby Shower

We went to Idaho Falls/Rexburg last weekend to throw a baby shower for my cousin Raegan. It turned out really well and everyone had lots of fun. (Can I just add here that I was two times bigger than her here when I was preggers with Maddie...it's not fair that she is smaller and she is having twins! She's not even that big! She isn't due for two more months tho, so we will see if she gets as big as I did. hehehe)

I don't like to do the same ole' games or traditional shower stuff, so I added my own twist to the shower, and adapted everything for twins.

We played "Pin the binks in the babies' mouths." Ragan is having a girl and a boy, so I did everything in pink and blue. I drew a girl baby and a boy baby and made pink and blue binkies. Everyone had to try to get the binkies in both of their mouths at the same time blindfolded. It was great fun.

Then we played "My Water Broke"...only because we live so far away I didn't have much time to freeze the water...The normal game is supposed to be to have little plastic babies frozen into ice cubes and then you put them into a cup or drink. You give each guest a cup with the ice in it and when the ice melts, the baby drops to the bottom of the cup, and you shout, "My water broke!" and get a prize. Well, because only a few of mine were frozen still when the party began, we played "My water didn't break yet!" instead. hahaha You have to wing it sometimes when things don't go as planned. hahaha So the ones with the frozen things still in the top of the bottle are the ones that won instead of the ones at the bottom.

We also played "Baby Mad Libs" which I made up for the twins. It was hilarious. Then as Raegan opened her gifts, we played "Baby Gift Bingo" where they got to play bingo with every gift she opened. They marked off what was on their sheet when she opened that gift.

I made up some party favors...candybars with baby shower labels on them, and I labeled the water bottles for the water breaking game.

Nick helped me hold diapers together to make a diaper cake as one of the gifts from us. I couldn't have done it without him. I would have been cussing and screaming, but it was so easy with his help! (Thanks baby!)

And I made cupcakes from scratch...they are way better than store bought cake, and made with the purest ingredients, nothing bad added. My family all love my cupcakes and request them often. Nick likes them too. :)
So after the shower I decided that I really like planning parties and coming up with fun ideas. I have had many people suggest to me to be a party planner and have some kind of business where I do birthday parties, showers, etc...but with two kids it's impossible for me to travel around to plan other people's parties...so Debbie (Nick's mom) came up with a brilliant plan where I don't have to be away from the kids but can still plan the perfect party for anyoe...details to come later...I can't wait! So if you want to have an amazing party, call me! I will hook you up with all the fun and games so your party is a hit!!!

Jodi's Two Cents

In response to Nick's post "The Real 411"...
Ok, you are right about almost everything...except...what is the deal with all the pipe/tobacco talk? Huh? What?
Ah, yes...the mermaid picture! Haaa. Amazing how one can disguise their appearance with a little photoshop online huh! LOL I thought it was the bagel you were after, not the mermaid? Hmmm...I think I need insert those pictures in here to clue everyone else in...

The "bagel" is one of my classic "hurry and squeeze belly fat to look like a bagel before they snap the picture" tricks. I just do funny stuff like that all the time, not much thought put into it, just funny so I posted it on my profile, hoping to scare off anyone looking for love with me...because I had sworn off men and was NEVER going to get into another relationship EVER AGAIN!!! OOPS! I did it again! Nick thought it was a real bagel, but when he figured out it was my belly that was it. He practically asked me to marry him that night...like day 2 of us chatting. Hahahahaha, JUST KIDDING! THERE IS NO TALK ABOUT MARRIAGE HERE! Household policy. Seriously tho, everything just fell into place, really fast, for us. It was like overnight our lives had changed forever. I was in denial at first (because it was happening so fast), but Nick knew exactly where this was going.

The mermaid picture was my profile picture on "tagged". Uh...I have never been this tan in my life, but tan looks good on me huh! LOL (Thank you funhouse and photoshop for making me look better than the original picture...hehehe) Who knew strange men from Boise were so into mermaids? I don't think I have ever laughed so hard than while chatting with Nick at night. ;b ...and every day now that we are together. We laugh a lot! (just like the care bear with that name.)

Might I also add that every day apart once we met in person was like an eternity of agony. It's so nice to be together at last! We fit together like cheese on hamburger...or something like that anyway!

~P.S. What's up with knocking my de'cor? I'm afraid if I left decorating up to you our house would be filled with John Deer green and Chicago Bear stuff. You already have a whole level of outdoorsy/manly/fishing/log cabin. Geesh. And I tried to do our room in local sports team spirit and you ripped it out of there...do you want me to decorate or not?????? hahahahaha

The "REAL" 411

Ok so you heard her version, but this is how it really went down. We really did meet on the computer, at this point is where our stories are a little different. I can tell you that I imagined her wearing something hotter than pj's and no makeup but whatever. Me I was in my red crushed velvet smokng jacket, my favorite evening pipe, and my favorite Prince Albert blend of tobacco. I saw a girl on there dressed up like a mermaid, and thought to myself this one might be interesting. And I WAS RIGHT!!!!! So after we initially met we continued to chat and talk Laughing Hystarically about everything either of us said. When we finally met in person, It was like a modern day love story (if the love story used Carey Idaho as the romantic backround say instead of Paris, or Hawaii. And Instead of The Eiffel Tower or a beautiful sunset over the ocean, an empty parking lot in front of the only bar in town) Total love story. So we met for 8 hours talking laughing and holding eachother both of us each knowing that we needed to be together. So time went by each day harder than the next until around Christmas of 08. She moved over......Then I started to notice all these crafty and cute things being hung up on all the walls, Colors appearing out of no where for the kitchen, bedrooms, and everywhere else. All of a sudden my tidy little bach pad is being over run by knick knacks, and cutesy stuff. My nice empty walls being overtaken with pictures and floral arangements. WOW what have I gotten myself into. I'm feelin short of breath like everything is closeing in on me.......... HA HA just kidding she has been the best thing that has ever happened to me and every day is better than before.

Hoppy Easter!!!

Chocolate bunnies, egg hunting, piniatas full of yummies, eggs & ham...does life get better than Easter? It's the ringing in of spring...nice weather, fun and games with family and friends...YA!
We had an Easter party at our house Saturday. It was a lot of fun! Thanks to everyone who came and for all of your contributions to dinner and good times!
So to prep for the party, we dyed and painted easter eggs...artist child Leesie was up WAY late painting eggs...but who can stop an artist? Not me.
And then made piniatas...Nick REALLY enjoyed the crafty project! I have such a creative bf! He "says" he didn't enjoy it. Whatever! He loved every second of it...ok he threatened to make me change the oil in his truck just to make us "even". LOL He did a really good job, and I am very thankful for his help on the project! What a good sport!
Our chicks and eggs all finished...
Then Saturday came...the big Easter Egg Hunt in the back yard...
Now the question is...did they find all the eggs? I guess we will find out with the mower right? LOLPiniata time! Who can bust it open? Do you think Maddie and Treyton got theirs open? Ha, ok they had a little help but they did get the candy from inside. =)
This is my little sis Jessie...we were really mean and duct taped this piniata all the way around to make it harder to crack...ummm it took them several tries, but eventully they did get it....BUT.....we didn't think of the unthinkable...all the candy inside was crushed into powder by the time it came out. So, note for next time: use only soft candies like gummies in the duct taped piniata.
The adults watching kids hit piniatas...Nick's parents joined in the festivities and my mom & brother Brandon (and Jessie) drove clear over for the party. A bunch of Nick's friends also came. We had fun! When piniatas were done, we had a bubble contest to see who could blow the biggest bubble. Then later in the evening my mom and I got on the piano and guitar and played some tunes for those who were still around. What a fun Easter!!!
The boss-man took a little break after the activities were all over! Ahhhhh! Kick back and soak up the sun baby!

April Fool's...Jodi Wins!!!

So April Fool's Day is one of my favorite holidays! I thought long and hard about what I could do to Nick, because I was sure he had something major planned to trick me with. And I came up with the best trick ever!!!

We have been looking for decor for our room...the walls are already blue, and neither of us really want to repaint it, so I decided to just work with the blue and add browns and reds to make it stylish, but haven't found the right accessories that just "jump out at me" yet.

So April 1st, I texted Nick on his phone and told him I found the PERFECT bedroom set in the PERFECT blue and tones that are just gorgeous with it..............Only I borrowed some BSU Bronco stuff from Nick's friends {thanks Brandon & Kathy! I don't think Nick REALLY hates you for helping me...LOL} (if you aren't aware of his absolute hatred for the Broncos, let me just say here that he can't stand BSU sports and it's with a very deep passion. Just seeing their logo on a car magnet makes him crazy to the point he suddenly gets road rage.)

So when he got home from a long day of working, I made him cover his eyes and pulled him into our room for a big "Tah dah!!!!"

OMG!!! WHO KNEW HE WAS REALLY THAT PARTICULAR ABOUT SPORTS TEAMS???? LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He was SERIOUSLY ticked! He kinda laughed and said, "good one!" to give me credit for my clever joke....started down the stairs, and then ran back upstairs grumbling, "This crap has to go! It can't stay in my room!!!!" He knew whose stuff I had borrowed, and gathered it all up, wadded it into a walmart bag, wrote in big letters with a sharpie, "BRONCOS SUCK" and some other choice words that I won't post on here. LOL Then he got in his truck and drove the bag back over to their house, threw it at their front door, and turned on the turbo and peeled out on their street.

I laughed harder than I have in years that day! It was soooooooooooooo funny!

(Oh, did I mention that he spoiled his surprise birthday party and scared the crap out of me while I was vaccuming one day? See, so I don't feel so bad that I got him so good. hahaha Paybacks!!! Gotta love it!!! We are even now, right baby?)

The 411...Jodi's Version

So we met the first week of July online (yes, I said online). It was like a fairytale dream come true...so romantical and all....hahaha well...ok I think I was in my pj's with no makeup nursing a baby all casual in my office...ya HOT!!! And Nick ... well he will have to post his own version. hahaha

I was just minding my own business, setting up a profile on "tagged" only because a friend (thanks Marlene) sent me an invitation to join this new thing, and I thought to myself, "Well I aready have myspace, facebook, blogspot, and everything else...why not tagged too?" Haha, little did I know it would change my life!!!

On my profile info I put that I was from Boise (never intending to ever move here) to protect my identity and family from weirdos on the internet. hahaha (Here's where Nick would say, "How did that work out for you, Jodi?") So I think the whole bit of lying about where I lived came back to bite me in the ass, because....um now I really AM in Boise.

So I get this alert that "Nicholas G." has selected to be friends with me, and he sends me a message and we start chatting on yahoo....and that's how it all started. I know, it's all unbelievable and out of this world romantic....HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA but that's how it all started. Great story to tell the grandkids someday, eh. hahaha We met thru the computer, not even face to face or at a bar. hahaha

And from that day on (which I believe was July 2nd, 2008) we chatted every day for a few weeks, then they turned into occasional phone calls, and text messaging, then daily phone calls, then we met in person, and met again, and again...ok you get the picture. We spent Thanksgiving together. Now we are living together in the Boise area and loving every second of it!!! It's so great to not have such a distance between us and see each other every day!!! Yay!!!
