Wow! We have reached a milestone already. So I walked into Nick's parents' house and there were these beautiful flowers on the table in a vase with a cute card in little kid handwriting that said, "Happy Anniversary!" on the outside I guess to symbolize that our relationship is still young? ha And being the complete ditzy space case that I am (I'm totally blaming recent head injuries from the fridge for that) I didn't realize they were for me. We had talked earlier in the week about us knowing each other a year, but the daily chores and week of packing for a summer holiday weekend getaway (and recent head injuries from the fridge...wink) sorta distracted me from what day it was. Nick, you are so thoughtful and sweet. Thank you for the lovely flowers and card!! You truly are the best! (I hope your memory can always make up for the lack of mine....hahahahahaha!!!)
A year! Already! I was really hesitant to let myself get into another relationship after all I had been through. I didn't think that there was such a thing as a good man out there. I was very determined to never have another man in my life ever again. ha Then Nick came along to prove my cynical theories wrong. I have not been so happy or laughed so hard or had so much fun in many years. Nick has brought my fun side back to life!
I feel like I have always known Nick. Somehow we just clicked together like puzzle pieces from day one. We have always just been completely comfortable and "at home" with each other. There is no complication, no messy fights, no controlling nastiness, no yelling, no psychotic fever fits of rage, no sitting in the corner all curled up, rocking, praying for sanity...wow! What a change for both of us...hahaha We are both so laid back and easy going. We have no need for fighting. The only thing we have in our home is love (and a bunch of furniture and other stuff...LOL). How awesome is that? It really is like a fairy tale love story every day...well except in fairy tales, they usually have maids and birds are singing...we could use a maid, and the birds at our house just smash into our windows. hahaha
Our families are meshing together really well. I hope we can always get along as well as we do now. Our kids get along with each other, we both adore each others' kids. We both love each others' parents, family, friends. What more could we ask for? (besides a bottomless bank account...hahaha) We fit together like a hand in a glove. It has just felt "right" from day one. Who knew? I look forward to every day and all the fun we have.
Nick, you are the world to me and I love you with all my heart!!! Happy First Year Together!
